Movement and dancing the 5 Rhythms™ connects us to an essential way of being. As we move - body, heart and mind begin to align, our awareness expands beyond our everyday consciousness and the soul begins to unfold.
 
Creating ritual theatre is making a sacred space, outside of ordinary awareness. It is a place where we can see each other and let ourselves be seen. A place to re-discover resources we didn’t know we had.
 
The group takes on the role of ‘witness’ and holds the space. This creates a safe place to move into the terrain of the soul and explore whatever emerges, through movement, voice and theatre.
 
We work with a form of movement based, spontaneous ritual theatre that we call ‘Open Space’.  Anything can happen when the space is open. We will follow you and work with you individually, explore relationships, the life of the group and realms beyond the personal that connect us to spirit.
 
Expressing our creative essence in ritual theatre is catalytic and creates a kind of alchemy - a magical dimension that shifts our consciousness and can bring profound insight and healing.
 
This will be an ‘in-deep’ weekend open to people who have experience of dancing the 5 Rhythms and this kind of group work. There will be a maximum of 18 people to ensure space for individual work.
 
Part I will be open to people with experience of 5 Rhythms who have not worked with us before, and to people who have! It will give you an opportunity to immerse yourself in the terrain of the soul and get a direct experience of our unique blend of using movement and ritual theatre for deep healing and connection to self, others and spirit.
 
Part II will be open to people who have attended part I or our previous ‘In Search of Soul’ on other in depth workshops. It will offer you an opportunity to take another step, deepening our journey together as the trust and connections build in the group.
 
Every workshop is unique exploration, we will follow the energy and experience of the group.

Julie and David have developed a unique style of working with movement and physical ritual theatre, and have run SOULWAVE together for over 10 years. Their work has grown out of their personal ‘search for soul’ in life, work and in relationship. Soulwave workshops are a journey into the unknown – David & Julie have a gift for following the energy and pace of each individual and the group as a whole.

David has a depth of experience and has run workshops in therapy, creativity and the healing arts for over 25 years. He accredited as a 5 Rhythms™ teacher in the late 80’s and is currently training with Gabrielle Roth to teach the heartbeat map of her work. He runs Soulwave workshops for the Moving Center School in Israel and has taught ritual dance and theatre in the UK and Europe for over 16 years. He also works as a psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer. David's mix of compassion and challenge gives an inspiring edge to his work.

Julie has 15 years experience working with groups in the arts, healing and creative/spiritual approaches. She is an accredited 5 Rhythms™ teacher, and has worked as a youth worker with teenage parents, she is a qualified massage therapist, a birth attendant and teaches natural birth. She has a passion for working with rites of passage and finding ways to truly celebrate life. She is a mum and a grandmother. Julie brings a heart felt warmth and love to her work.
