A change of plan: appologies to those of you who were planning to come to this event, I have decided to cancel...not quite enough people booked and committed to balance the energy that goes into creating the event. I trust that if you were thinking of coming that you will find another way to celebrate this very special time of year and that I might see you on the dance floor at a different time soon.

 

Friday Evening Session and Weekend
With Dawn Morgan, Shapeshift 5 Rhythms Dance

October 28th-30th 2011 held at the Lansdown Hall/The Space, Stroud GL5 1BB.

Evening Session:
Introduction and Warm up for the Weekend

28th October Friday Evening 7.30 pm-10.30pm (a pre-requisite for new comers).

This evening session can be taken separately and is recommended as a warm up and start to the weekend.
If you have not danced the 5 rhythms or similar before, it is an essential pre-requisite.

The 5 Rhythms are a beautiful dancing map of the movement of energy. The structure guides you through different ways of moving and offers you the freedom to discover and deepen your own embodiment.

Dawn has been practicing the 5 Rhythms for 20 years and is also trained to teach the advanced 'Heartbeat level" of the work. She is currently completing an MA in Dance and Somatic Education at UCLAN. Other influences include, Tantra, Continuum, Body-Mind Centering, Prapto, Authentic Movement and others.
Her style of teaching is clear, playful and heartful.

2-Day Course
Previous experience of the 5 Rhythms or similar essential.

This course is a community ceremony and celebration of Samhain or Halloween.
The final harvest of the season arrives, and as we look to nature we can see that all around us is dying. The fruit has fallen from the trees and the fields are empty.
The festival of Samhain brings with it an invitation to reflect on what has passed, gather jewels from the seeds planted in the Spring, and prepare for the returning magic of winter where we will undertake a journey into the dark half of the year.
The key focus for the festival of Samhain is that the veil between the physical and spiritual worlds is at its thinnest point making it opportune for us to acknowledge our Ancestors and others who have made the transition from the physical into the spirit world. As they draw close to us once again we can offer remembrance, gratitude and open to their love, wisdom and guidance.

With dance, ritual theatre and a ceremonial party we will mark this time with depth and lightness; an opportunity to open to and become present to the beauty and constant change that life is.

29th October 10am-until late
30th October 10am-4pm
The timing may change, but you need to be available for the whole course.

Price: £90 (was £150) this does not include meals or accommodation. Here is a list of local accomodation in stroud.

There is a special 'community price option' for dancers who wish to contribute to the holding of this event and assist in some way, be in touch asap.
