This course Celebrates Samhein/Halloween.

This long weekend works with 5 Rhythms dance, ritual theatre the creation of community and transformation.

It offers a space for physicality, grounded practice of presence in day to day life, as well as magic, the heart and transformation.

We will take space to acknowledge our ancestors and those who have passed through the veil. As we celebrate the final harvest of the season we will mark the gateway into winter.

Dancing and meditating with death and change paradoxically supports us to appreciate the beauty of our lives. We are offered a perspective that helps us to live more meaningful lives and to make choices that serve us, our families, communities and the earth herself. We will create a sacred party to celebrate life, and the eternal cycling of the wheel of life and death. Space will be offered for you to honor and release that which you no longer need.

The Facilitators

Francis Joy originally from Yorkshire, lives in Helsinki, Finland. He has a Master of Arts degree from Helsinki University in Religious studies with a special focus on Shamanism and Rock Art, as well as Sami shamanism and Indigenous Religion. Francis has worked with native teachers from a number of indigenous communities including the Cree and Lakota Indians, and with Peruvian as well as Finnish shamans. These teachings support his work as an Ovate with The Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids.

Francis works as a healer and body therapist with a special focus on addiction and soul loss. He has danced 5 Rhythms with Dawn for 10 years and is a co-creator for 5 Rhythms in Finland.

Dawn Morgan origionally from Lancashire lives in Stroud Gloucestershire, she teaches classes in the 5 Rhythms and Somatic Education locally, and in Birmingham, Bristol and Glastonbury. She has been working with the 5 Rhythms and groups for 20 years. She has trained to work with birth, pregnancy and fertility, she practiced Western 'neo-tantra' for 10 years. She regularly creates community rituals and sacred parties as part of her workshops and for her community.

Introduction to the 5 Rhythms and Halloween dance party/ceremony open to everyone. This is open to people not participating in the weekend course, and is an essential pre-requisite if you have not danced the 5 Rhythms before. For people not participating in the retreat the price is £20 / £15 (concs).

If you intend to stay over on the Thursday evening there will be a charge of £25 for Bed and Breakfast.
On the Thursday Evening there won't be a set meal but there will be pumpkin soup and bread to share (£2) for people staying, do bring extra food if you will need it.
