What Jack says about the ceremony:
“The fire walk has become ceremony a ceremony that has evolved out of many years of working with touch, expression and fear. All of them areas that needed healing in myself and consequently the areas in which i find myself working with others. I come to the ceremony which we create as a player with some experience, not as one with all the answers, i too am on my healing journey, i too have not reached a continuity of open heart and higher self.

The ceremony is itself at best an elemental portal. We establish the ceremonial ground using the eight directions and five elements:> water, earth, wood, metal, fire <. We colour the directions, ourselves, we bring rthymn, chant and movement to the gradual and continuous charging of the circle, we bring wild fire to the central element, we meet to engage with our fears and arrive at the moment of nowness and step into the void.

In essence we create a situational dynamic to join with, where the dancers who have chosen to meet the fire are walking for the fears of the people, who in turn support the selflessness of those who walk, we all become as one in the timelessness of commitment. The self is left aside as we offer ourselves to join with the primordial fear of the cleansing fire.

As walkers, it is an oppotunity of intentional healing. We step into the fire to giveaway our attachments to old beliefs and holding patterns ; anything that no longer serves our opening process,so that they can be 'burnt off ' and allow us to move forward into a void that can now be filled with a chosen newness ,and that we can become devoid of inherited and oppressive maps”.

fire ceremony

My experience of the fire walk ceremony with Jack was of a beautiful and impeccabley held space. The ceremony was clearly choreographed and grounded, it was made clear that it was not necessary or even desired that everyone walked, we were all part of the ceremony whether we did the walking part or not. I was astounded when the first person walked; small mind was shocked! When I found myself walking ‘I’ had not decided, the impulse had come from an expanded sense of self and certainly from my heart. It was a clear experience of ‘following the heart’, of trust and surrender and innocence and prayer. It was a truly empowering experience in the most humbleing of ways. In the ceremony we entered a timeless space of connection, at once we were our ancesters, the ancient people praying and healing in essential and elemental ways, and at once we were in the moment present and awake to the, simplicity and power of now.
