Roots and Wings :

Temple Dance in South West Crete,

August 30th-September 6th

A week of dance and movement, sun, sea, good food, good company, growth and magic.

Each morning we dance in the beautiful light filled dancing temple space at the Metacom Centre. After the lunch made by our lovely cook, Marketa, the afternoons are free to go to the local town, Paleochora, go the the beach, rest in the hammock, receive a massage, or explore the area in one of the hire cars.

Some evenings we will meet again before or after the evening meal, to connect with our Roots and Wings or to prepare for our day out to the Healing Temple of Lissoss.

This retreat has become a regular feature of my yearly calender and is certainly a high point of the year.

We will deepen our sense of rooting, presence, sense of place and embodiment through movement and grounding exercises. When we are ready with the help of the dance and the inspiration of the Minoen Snake Dancing Goddess, we will 'take flight' and remember our wings. Celebrating the spirit of life, we will fly into the landscape of myth and magic, of dreams and trance. And once again we will come back to our roots, renewed, resourced, with a deeper sense of ourselves of the magic and perfection of our lives inspired and ready to live life to the full.

If you have more time it may be worth checking out flights to Heraklion which though further away offers more choice.
Coming over land is a great alternative if you have time for the journey.
